A St. Louis native, Shertina has been recognized as a "Woman of Courage, Confidence, and Character" for her ongoing commitment to mentorship and community service proven through her time, talent and treasure. She is lifetime Girl Scout, recently serving two, consecutive terms for the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri's board of directors. Shertina currently serves as a mentor for the EDM Council's Women Data Professional's Mentoring Program. Shertina continues to serve as a leadership giver for the the United Way of Greater St. Louis and financially supports a number of other local and national charities including the Girl Scouts of Eastern Missouri, the Alzheimer's Association, and St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
In her spare time, Shertina enjoys spending time with her family, interior design and home staging, and traveling the world to learn new cultures and make lasting memories.
