WLDA is thrilled to announce that Ellen Nielsen, former Chief Data Officer (CDO) of Chevron, has been appointed as WLDA’s new Executive Director. Nielsen brings a wealth of experience in leadership, diversity, and organizational development, marking a significant milestone for WLDA as it continues to champion the advancement of women in leadership roles across data, technology and AI.
Ellen Nielsen’s tenure at Chevron was marked by her steadfast commitment to fostering an inclusive corporate culture and her strategic initiatives that significantly enhanced data accessibility and trustworthiness within the company. Ellen is widely respected in the field and has been recognized with numerous awards including Top 100 Influential People in Data, USA, Top 20 Trailblazing Women in Energy, CDO Magazine Global Data Power Women list, DataIQ 100, and many others.

In her new role, Nielsen will oversee WLDA’s Growth Strategy. She will work closely with the board, staff, and members to expand WLDA’s reach and impact, building on the organization’s strong foundation to create more opportunities for women to thrive in leadership roles.
