Visionary Leaders Forum 2023: A Time for Building New Connections, Gaining Resources, and Growing the WLDA Community

The WLDA Visionary Leaders Forum kicked off on Thursday, April 27th in Florida with a reception full of warm hugs, welcomes, and reconnections. After everyone had a chance to talk, the group moved to a buffet dinner with testimonials from members about the value they received from WLDA and personal introductions. A common theme was discovered – this group likes to cook! (Ask Maria Villar for her black bean recipe.) Event Chair and WLDA board member Dara Meath and WLDA CEO Asha Saxena provided remarks about the event’s goals and how to make the most of the time together.

Friday kicked off with a social breakfast and some discussion about AI and how it is impacting business. From there, the group headed to a workshop led by Jana Ertrachter a certified YPO facilitator and principal consultant, who spoke about Transformation and Change and the importance of having a Growth Mindset. Jana led small group discussions around ways to reframe thinking to help solve challenging problems. She provided tools and resources (available to all members through our website) to tackle big changes head-on and learn how to open your mind to possibilities.

The afternoon was a time for bonding through a 1:1 walk, where members were able to have deep conversations, followed by a 2-hour Peer Circle facilitated by Jana to continue the conversation from earlier.

After a much-needed break, the group came together for a fun and festive Roaring 20s dinner, complete with music, flapper attire, and an interactive game about technology that was developed in the 1920s, led by Dara. Can you guess what the top 7 technology advancements were in the 1920s?

The event concluded with a hands-on Public Speaking Workshop, led by Karen Tiber Leland. The workshop received extraordinarily high praise from attendees and provided practical advice to enhance your executive brand and be seen as a leader. Karen’s energy, combined with her deep knowledge of what it takes to command a room, provided members with invaluable guidance for making their goals a reality.

Special thanks to our members who sponsored items for the event: L’Oréal, MARS, IBM, and Build-A-Bear!

Mark your calendars for the 2024 VLF on April 3-5 in Nashville, TN!
